17. 500 Watt Dynamic Tether High
Voltage Power Supply
Battel Engineering is working with Millennium Satellite Systems Inc.
(MSS) and Tethers Unlimited Inc. (TUI) on innovative power systems for
use in dynamic tether applications. This particular application requires
+/-1000 volts at up to 500 watts. The polarity is reversible with the
voltage commandable at a step transition rate of 250 ms. The design and
brassboard work were completed on budget and ahead of schedule in early
2009.
